Overview: Retail electricity supply will be carried out exclusively by licensed Regional Power Grid Companies (RECs) that meet statutory legal requirements.
Key Changes
Unregulated Energy Supply Organizations (NESOs) are ceasing operations.
Supply Functions are fully transferred to licensed RECs.
SME Tariff Reductions: Tariffs for small and medium-sized businesses have been reduced across 12 regions by an average of 11.62% (-4.39 KZT).
Legal Basis: Law signed by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on July 8, 2024.
